Internship

The HoAB offers paid internships throughout the year at HoAB head office in Thimphu. You can choose the field that interests you to learn more.

Communications Internships
Are you interested in becoming, or training to become, a communicator? Our communications department is on the lookout for qualified editorial interns for paid six-month internships at our headquarters at Taba, Thimphu.

Editorial internships with the Horticulture Association of Bhutan are open to any college-level student of journalism, English, horticulture or related fields, and to adults with relevant experience who are making a career change or seeking additional training.

While working closely with the staff of The Bhutan Gardener magazine, interns will gain experience in all facets of the editorial and production processes for a national, four-color magazine. Primary duties include researching and writing short articles, proofreading and fact-checking, and coordinating author and photographer submissions.

As part of a broad-based exposure to gardening and horticultural communication, the editorial intern may also be asked to support the communication department’s photography needs and the organization’s social media platforms and website. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in occasional professional development workshops and field trips to prominent local gardens.

Horticultural internships are open to anyone interested in a career in horticulture, with preference given to those pursuing a degree or who have completed a degree in horticulture, or a related field.
